Climatic change currently in Chennai is very bad. Most of kids in my neighbourhood including my daughter is sick. My daughter happily shared her cold & fever with me. So I'm also sick for past two days. That's the reason why there is no much cooking & update in my blog. Just rasam rice & yam fry only in menu today. :(
So sharing one of my menu recipe here.
Yam - sliced 2 cups
Red chilli powder
Oil for frying
1. Add 3 cups of water to the sliced yam & cook in a vessel for 15 mins. When yam is half cooked add 1/4 tbsp of salt.
**Pressure cooking will make yam mushy so don't pressure cook it.
2. After 15 mins, strain the yam. Sprinkle the chilli powder & salt over the cooked yam & mix it. Make sure not to break the cooked yam.
3. Heat 5 tbsp of oil in a heavy bottom frying pan & shallow fry the masala mixed yam until it becomes crispy.
4. So Crispy Yam fry is ready & it goes well with rasam rice, curd rice & sambar rice. Since I'm not well going to have it with rasam rice. :-)
